Elmer John “Johnny” Hessenius III, 42, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Johnny was born on September 28, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Elmer and Betty (Perry) Hessenius Jr. He worked for JRS Pharma. Johnny loved riding his Harley whenever he could. He also loved his dog, Raven. Johnny was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders and Roughriders hockey. He will be missed by all of his friends and family.
Survivors include his siblings, Greg Cousins, Mervyn Cousins, and Ted Cousins, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Vera (Dean) Cummings and Deb (Loren) Ellis, all of Independence, Iowa, Char Brandau of Urbana, Iowa, Kathy Benton, Lori (Greg) Knockle and Jackie Cousins, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund had been established at Collins Community Credit Union in Johnny’s name donations can be made there.
