On the morning of Monday, May 27, 2013, Elmer “Butch” Stutt, passed away suddenly at his home in Marion. He would have been 68 in October, and was a local of the Cedar Rapids area. He was found doing what he loved, working on a tractor, and getting ready for his first tractor ride of the season on May 29th. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion by Rev. John Keizer. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his children, Tim (Brenda) Bowser of Springville, Teri (John) Legler of Cedar Rapids, and Lori (Tom) Trenkamp of Marion; six grandchildren, Zach, Sarah, Zeb, Danielle, Molly, and Dakota; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Verna) Stutt; sisters, Susan Stutt, and Nancy (Bill) Summers; sister-in-law, Dee (Wayne) Collum; and his dogs, Peaches and Guss.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Butch was born October 17, 1945, in Anamosa, the son of Elmer Sr. and Laurena (Wise) Stutt. He graduated from Central City High School. Butch married Joyce Baker on March 5, 1969, in Rock Island, IL. He was a lifelong truck driver for different organizations. Butch enjoyed tractor rides with his extended family throughout the Midwest. He was a Vietnam veteran, making it fitting that he passed away on Memorial Day.
