Elma I. Wilson, 84, a resident of Mercy Hallmar Residential Care Center, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Center Point, died there Friday, May 8, 2009. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by Chaplain Joe Kane. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Woodrow James (Caroll) Wilson of Walker, Thomas Paul (Betty) Wilson of Center Point, Barbara Ellen Tokheim of Cedar Rapids, Harold Eugene (Susie) Wilson of Walker, Joseph Charles (Kati) Wilson of Center Point, Kay Wilson of Cedar Rapids and Irene Marshell Davis of Center Point; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Merle Loney and Alice McConnell both of Cedar Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Reiko Floyd of West Branch.
Elma was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow; parents; siblings, George, Dan, Melvin, Leo Jr., Thelma, Florence and Glen; and two granddaughters, Kimberly and Carrie.
Born July 5, 1924, in Hopkinton, Iowa, Elma was the daughter of Leo and Sadie (Andrews) Floyd. On March 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Woodrow T. Wilson. He died November 7, 1996.
Elma was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed embroidering and puzzles, jigsaw and crossword.
