Elliott Vincent Wiest, 67, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by: Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include children, Annette (Duke) Romer of Florida, Chad Wiest of Oelwein, Kari (Kevin) Dilley of Independence and Krystle Wiest of Independence; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Elaine Graves of California, Yvonne (Jim) Bottema of La Porte City, Yvette (Larry) Bridgewater of Walker and Dean (Carla) Wiest of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brent Wiest; brother, Jan Wiest; and one brother-in-law.
Elliott was born May 21, 1945, in Harvey, North Dakota, son of Vincent and Lena (Goldade) Wiest. He married Kaye Lange and they later divorced. Elliott worked many years in construction, and he was an avid Hawkeye fan, and even converted a car into a Hawkeye convertible.
