Ellen M. Benesch, 72, of Walker, Iowa, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, in the West Village Care Center, Independence. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Rev. David Ambrosy. Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Liz) Benesch of Walker, Rick Benesch of Rochester, Minnesota, Roxanne Benesch (Jack Johnson) of Cedar Falls and Renee (Jonathan) Moore of Walker; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two great grandchildren on the way; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margaret Perrin; two sons, Ronald Benesch and Rodney Benesch; and her brother, Charles Perrin.
Born June 16, 1937, in Mystic, Iowa, Ellen was the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Baxter) Perrin. She worked for North Linn Elementary School in Walker and for Rockwell Collins.
Ellen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and IBEW Local #1362.
She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed NASCAR and reading.
