Ella M. Reth, 94, of Earlville, died Tuesday morning October 19, 2004 at Manor Care in Dubuque, Iowa following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 22 at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Earlville by Pastor Ross Wyman. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Ella was born the daughter of Albert and Josie (Kaiser) Breymann on June 14, 1910 in Peina, Germany. In 1923, at the age of 13, Ella came to the United States on the ship Resolute to Ellis Island. She worked for Mayor Daly?s family in Chicago. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1930. On February 23, 1934 Ella was united in marriage to Harry W. Reth in Delaware. The couple farmed near Manchester until 1943 then moved to a farm west of Earlville. Harry died January 12, 1982.
Ella was a friend of the Earlville United Parish. She enjoyed visits from her friends.
Ella is survived by nieces and close friends, Rick & Cindy Mormann & family and Eric & Karen Klaren & family, all of Earlville.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Josie Breymann; her husband, Harry Reth; one son, Wilbur H. Reth on April 13, 2002; a brother, Wilhelm Breyman; and a sister, Annie Breyman Schultz.
