Elizabeth P. Woods
July 2, 1913 — February 23, 2005
Elizabeth (Libby) P. Woods, 91, of 113 3rd St., died Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Del Bear. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Coggon.
Survivors include five sons, James (Susan) Woods of Citra, Florida, Richard (Janet) Woods of Toddville, Bill (Dorothy) Woods of Cody, Wyoming, David Woods of Des Moines and Mike (JoAnn) Woods of Coggon; a daughter-in-law, Mary Woods of Coggon; Jane Woods of Johnston; four sisters, Helen Dunek of Cedar Rapids, Edna Gelski of Cedar Rapids, Geraldine Wiant of Coggon and Doris Andrus of Missoula, Montana; nineteen grandchildren; and forty-nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas; a sister, Mary Ellen Hattman; a brother, Leo Henderson; and a great-grandchild, Brian Woods.
Elizabeth was born July 2, 1913, the daughter of Mark and Geneva (Green) Henderson in rural Coggon. On January 24, 1934, she married Walter V. Woods. He died February 11, 1994.
A memorial fund has been established in Elizabeth?s memory.
