Elizabeth (Lorraine) Thompson, 89, a resident of Linn Manor, formerly of Center Point, died October 4, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. David Siler. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.

Survivors include her children, Reynaldo (Judy) Thompson, Jr of Hanover Park, Illinois, Douglas (Rita) Thompson of Coggon, Connie (Don) Washburn of Center Point and Gary (Deb) Thompson of Center Point; a son-in-law, John (Theresa) Potaczek of Bloomer, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn Gauger of Stanley, Wisconsin, Wanda Schesel of EauClaire, Wisconsin, Bernice Haas and Elizabeth Headrick, both of Stanley, Wisconsin; and two brothers, Vernon LaMarche of Stanley, Wisconsin and Wallace LaMarche of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reynaldo; a daughter, Carol Potaczek; and a granddaughter, Lori Washburn Reid.

Lorraine was born October 21, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Johanna Sorensen LaMarche, in Stanley, Wisconsin. After graduating from a Teaching College, she married Reynaldo Thompson. He died July 13, 2004. Lorraine farmed in Gilman, Wisconsin and worked at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She enjoyed being with her family, doing yard work, gardening, picnics and sewing. Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
