Elizabeth A. Priban, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, by All Saints Catholic Church at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father David O’Connor. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial: St. John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her niece, Carol (Randy) Harris of Lafayette, California; their children, Steven Harris of Lafayette, Renee (David) Marmolejo of San Francisco, California; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary A. Pluhar and husband, Elmer.
Elizabeth was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on October 18, 1919, the daughter of John and Anna (Plotz) Priban. She worked for the Cedar Rapids Community School District for over 40 years, most of that time in the accounting department, retiring in 1985. Elizabeth was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
