Elizabeth "Betty? Hall, 83, formerly of Central City and a resident of Linn Manor Care Center, Marion, died Sunday, February 9, 2003, at the care center following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Central City, by the Rev. Nick Needham. Burial: Blodgett Cemetery, Central City. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 11.)
Survivors include her husband William of Marion; her children, Owen Hall and wife Cork of Central City, William C. Hall Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Mary E. Berry of Washington, Pennsylvania, and Allen Hall of Marion; six grandchildren, Kris Hall, Mike Hall, Tyler Hall, Billie-Sue Riley, Melissa Berry and Andrew Hall; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry "Bud? Eiler; and a sister, Ruth Pratt.
Betty was born the daughter of Merle and Mary (Boner) Eiler on September 6, 1919, in Monticello, Iowa. She was united in marriage to William C. Hall on April 4, 1941. Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Central City, and a member for over fifty years of Central City American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as past president. She was past secretary of the Rural Letter Carriers Association Auxiliary.
