Elizabeth Evelene Ankrom, 86, of Manchester, Iowa, died Sunday morning, July 30, 2006, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, after a short illness.
A private family funeral service will be at a later date. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville.
Elizabeth was born December 2, 1919 in Sturgeon, Missouri. She was the daughter of Willie and Lucretia (Woods) Robinson. Elizabeth attended school through the 8th grade in Sturgeon. Elizabeth married Leslie Ankrom in 1937 and moved to Jacksonville, Illinois. She later moved to Manchester, Iowa in the late 1970?s.
Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, sewing and her flower garden. She entered many of these items in state and county fairs, winning prizes and honors for all. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the joy of her life.
Elizabeth is survived by four children, Betty (Gary) Jackson of Manchester, Charles (Carol) Ankrom of Masonville, Joyce Ankrom of Danvers, IL and Helen (Jerry) Crandall of Coin, IA; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Willard, Leo and Charles Archie Robinson.
