Eleanor M. Peacock, 95, of 2101 K Street SW, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, in her home, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Harry Koelker. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Scripture service begins at 6:00 p.m. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Boubin of Cedar Rapids; four granddaughters, several great-grandchildren; two nephews, Jerry A. Boubin of Independence and Don Boubin of Cedar Rapids; and a niece, Pati Rabik of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guerdon, an infant son, James; a daughter, Joan Shuflin; and a brother, Jerry F. Boubin.
Eleanor was born September 11, 1907, the daughter of Alois and Rose Zid Boubin, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On May 14, 1977, she was united in marriage to James Guerdon Peacock. He died in 1985. Eleanor was a bookkeeper for Davis-Jones Insurance for many years. She enjoyed playing cards at Witwer Senior Center, dancing, bingo, sewing and baking brownies.
Memorials may be made to St. Ludmila Catholic Church or Hospice of Mercy in memory of Eleanor.
