Elaine E. Pierce, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Arrangements by: Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include children, James Pierce of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Carol (Eugene) Boggs of Cedar Rapids and Dale Pierce (fiancée Robin) of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and furry children, Ozzie and Felix.
She was preceded in death by husband, Eugene; parents, George and Martha Hein; and all her siblings.
Elaine was born on December 6, 1924, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, daughter of George and Martha (Brankow) Hein. She worked at Coopers during World War II in Kenosha. On February 14, 1946 she married Eugene “Gene” Pierce at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He passed away in July of 1981. In July of 2009 she moved to Iowa with her daughter and her husband. Elaine enjoyed spending time at the Friendly Center at St. Mary Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
