Elaine Claire Frazier, 85, of 2425 9th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Private Services will be held. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Milford; daughter, Sharon (Chuck) Cihla, Cedar Rapids; son Richard Frazier, Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren including Leah (Mike) Stadtmueller and Chuck Cihla; great grandchildren, Stefanie, Colton, Samantha and Cyle; brother-in-law, Charles Hughes, Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Eunice Hartshorn, Providence, Rhode Island; many nieces and nephews; many cousins including Donald Fairley, Providence, Rhode Island; and her dog Rusty.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Thomas Hartshorn.
Born May 13, 1926, in Providence, Rhode Island, Elaine was the daughter of Thomas and Marie (Capron) Hartshorn. On March 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to Milford Frazier in Providence, Rhode Island. She worked for Turner Microphone.
Elaine was a former member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed playing scratch lottery, crocheting, camping, dancing, bowling and was an avid mall walker. Her greatest love was her family and anything involving her family.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Elaine’s memory.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the nurses that took care of Elaine.
