Eileen Donohoe, 71, of Marion, went to be with our Lord, Friday, October 22, 2004, following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a Rosary will begin at 2 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Donohoe; and her children, Susan Donohoe (Steve "Boyd? Gunn) and their children, Emily, Molly and Colin Gunn of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Teri) Donohoe and their children, Bradley, Amanda and Patrick of Cedar Rapids and Sharon (David) Loecher and their children, Jana, John and Natalie of Marion.
Also surviving are a sister, Joanne (Bob) Hageman of Decorah; a brother, Calvin (Joann) Henry of Marion; and a sister, Madonna (Dick) Marsh of Stewartville, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Virgil Henry.
Eileen was born November 5, 1932, the daughter of Paul and Agnes (Tierney) Henry in rural Bluffton, Iowa. She graduated from Assumption Catholic High School in Cresco in 1951. On June 23, 1956, Eileen married Louis Donohoe at St. Bridget?s Catholic Church in Bluffton. Eileen worked as receptionist and bookkeeper for Petroleum Equipment and Service in Marion for twenty-seven years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, The Elks Club in Cedar Rapids and VFW Auxiliary No. 788.
Eileen will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, daughter and grandmother. Her sense of humor, fun-loving spirit and energy will be missed. Her pride and joy was her family.
