Edwin Louis Serbousek
August 31, 1917 — July 4, 2003
Edwin L. Serbousek, 85, a resident of Crestview Care Center, Marion, died Friday, July 4, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include his children, Irvin Serbousek and wife Willa of Walker, Elaine Schultz and husband Delaine of Atkins, and Marlene Scadden and husband Gene of Marion; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Turnceick of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona; and two brothers, Lester and Leonard.
Edwin was born August 31, 1917, the son of Frank and Agnes (Spacek) Serbousek, in rural Center Point, Iowa. On August 22, 1940, he was united in marriage to Leona Ludvicek in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She died November 29, 1999. Edwin worked at Allis Chalmers as a welder for 20 years and also farmed. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Center Point and the UAW. Edwin will be greatly missed and the memories he has left us will be treasured by all of his family and friends.
