Edwin B. Gorius, 85 of Cedar Rapids passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 4, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral Mass: 12 p.m. Saturday, December 5, at St Jude's Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, June (John) Paul of Napa, California, Mary (Ken) Kray of Delhi, Bill (Connie) Gorius of Ankeny, Teri (Dan) Roth of Coralville and Linda (Bruce) Reynolds of Cosgrove; grandchildren, Sarah, Jon, Tiffany, Shelby, Callie and Brittany, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 2 siblings, Dorothy Huerter of Anamosa and Walt Gorius of Salinas, California, and his dear friend Kay Crowley.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents and 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Born May 13, 1930, Ed was the son of Joe and Rose Gorius in Anamosa, Iowa. On May 13, 1952 he was united in marriage to Betty Foley in Marion. Ed retired from the University of Iowa Hospital in the HVAC Department in 1991. He was very proud of the 10 years he spent as a volunteer firefighter for the Coralville Fire Department. Ed was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and time with family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mercy Hospice of Cedar Rapids in memory of Ed and Betty Gorius.
