Edwin G. Hemmer, Jr, 34, of Earlville, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville following complications of a car accident.
Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi with Rev. John Kremer officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monticello. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Earlville are in charge of arrangements.
Edwin was born July 19, 1973 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Edwin G. Hemmer, Sr. and Lynne Marie Greenwood. Edwin graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1992. He worked road construction for Tschiggfrie, Dubuque until his car accident on August 24, 2000.
Edwin enjoyed hunting, fishing and his Camaro.
Edwin is survived by his mother and step-father, Lynne & John Richter of Earlville; maternal grandmother, Jane Greenwood of Monticello; three brothers, Mark Richter of Earlville, Bob (Tina) Richter of Hopkinton, and Jeff Richter of Earlville; four sisters, Nora Richter of Manchester, Kim Barrnett of Des Moines, Pat (Marvin) Goldsmith of Lexington, NE and Sue (Andy) Ballou of Monticello; and two nieces, Emma and Grace Richter of Hopkinton.
Edwin was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Gerald Hemmer, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Barb Hemmer; and a special cousin, Jenny Jamieson.
