Edward Andrew Sellner

Edward Andrew Sellner, 91, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Marion, surrounded by family and love. A Rosary Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where the family will then greet friends from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the funeral home, with an additional one-hour visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with full military honors.
Edward was born on June 16, 1933, in Earlville, Iowa, the son of Leo and Agnes (Rolling) Sellner. On August 23, 1958, Edward was united in marriage to Vivian “Louise” Newman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Edward served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked in plumbing maintenance at Iowa Manufacturing/Cedar Rapids, Inc. from 1966-1995, until his retirement. Edward was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 298. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Edward is survived and lovingly remembered by his three children, Debbie (Steve) Drake, Shelley (Ross) Chapman, and Tom (Lana) Sellner, all of Marion; five grandchildren, Chelsea (Zach) Hutchcroft, Derek Sedrel, Rachel Chapman, Quinn Drake, and Bennett Sellner; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Maisie Hutchcroft, Ezra Barillas, and Hayes Goad; two sisters, Jeanette Mescher of Dyersville, and Donna (Joe) Fischer of Earlville; and a host of extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise Sellner; brothers, Joe, Lester, and Bobby Sellner; sisters, Lillian (Lawrence) Diesberg, Doris (Sylvarious “Ike”) Wuchter, and Lorraine Sellner; and brothers-in-law, Fritz Mescher and Richard Newman.
