Edward Kenneth Schott, Sr., 67, of Coggon, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at his home from complications of COPD. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2010 at the United Parish in Coggon by Rev. Jack Kendall. Family will greet friends 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
Edd is survived by his wife, Cheryl; two children, Kimberly Anne (David) Doyle and Edward Kenneth (Jennifer) Schott, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Kristin Doyle, and Brooke and Curtis Schott; two brothers, Marland (Peggy) Schott and Douglas Schott, all of Coggon; a sister, Diane Harding of England; a special dog, Lucky; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Edd was born March 27, 1943 in Iowa City, the son of Kenneth and Genevieve (Kleppe) Schott. On February 16, 1963, Edd was united in marriage to Cheryl Kay Edwards at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Alburnett. He retired in 2006 from VitaPlus Corp.
Edd loved talking to everyone and had no enemies. Edd was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Edd’s name.
