Edward Fisher, 93, formerly of Center Point, died Monday, October 7, 2002, in Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids from Alzheimer?s. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by the Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Walker. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Center Point, where a scripture service will be held at 4:00 p.m. The casket will be closed at all times.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth Holub and wife Faynet of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Agnes Hammond and husband Al of Atkins, Iowa, Edward Fisher and wife Sharon of Cedar Rapids and John Fisher and wife Cathy of Center Point; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Fisher of Cedar Rapids; and four sisters, Bessie Stancl of Ely, Alma Riddle of Swisher, Frances Baker of Des Moines and Adeline Kutcher of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; two brothers; and four sisters.

Born August 14, 1909, in North Liberty, Iowa, to Frank and Frances Drtina Fisher, he married Marjorie D. Holub in October of 1940 at Prairieburg, Iowa. Edward and his wife farmed in the North Liberty area and then in Center Point. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker and C.S.A., and also enjoyed playing the accordion, fishing, mushroom hunting and berry picking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. Edward has gone to rest with his Lord.
