Edward “Ed” Lee Campbell, 68, of 1930 Jackson Dr., Marion, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at home. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Private family inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Butch (Carol) Longerbeam of Marion; his children, Debra JuShae-Sieber, Brian Campbell, and Nick Campbell; several grandchildren and nieces & nephews; a brother, John (Jack) Campbell of Cedar Rapids, and his dog, Nutsy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, and a son, Bill.
Ed was born August 22, 1939, the son of John and Fern (Hepker) Campbell, in Iowa City, Iowa. He married Deanna Lynne Longerbeam on June 4, 1987 at the Heart of Reno Chapel in Reno, Nevada. She died July 26, 2007. Ed served with the U.S. Air Force and had worked for International Paper Company, Per Mar Security, and Midland Security.
