Edna A. Seeman, 85, a resident of Evergreen Estates II, died of a sudden illness, Thursday, October 7, 2010. Memorial Service: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mark Halvorson. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Her body was donated to the University of Iowa.
Survivors include her son, Jerry (Janet) Happel of North Liberty; her stepchildren, Donald (Rosie) Seeman of Lisbon, Dean (Sandy) Seeman of Cedar Rapids, William Seeman of Fairbanks, Alaska, Patricia Hampshire of Center Junction and Ellen Celestine of Opelousas, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Julie Happel of Chicago, Illinois, and Jennifer (Jay) Fetzer of Solon; great-grandson, Ben Fetzer; many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Viola Coffelt of Perryville, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Hudson of Cedar Rapids and Emma Hudson of Perryville, Misssouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Edwin Happel and Walter Seeman; seven brothers; three sisters; and a stepson, David Seeman.
Edna was born November 4, 1924, the daughter of Prince and Ida Mae (Reddick) Hudson, in Silverlake, Missouri. For 38 years, she worked at Rockwell Collins, retiring as a plant inspector. Edna enjoyed dancing and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Edna.
