Edna Lucille Dahms, 97, of Village Ridge, Marion, died Sunday, December 3, 2006, at St. Luke?s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Howard Chapman. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a nephew, Donovan (Judy) Murray of Central City, and their family, Steve Murray, Kraig Murray and Jan Clarke; and many cousins, including, Darlene Schrimper of Cedar Rapids and Arline Ritze of Alburnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn.
Edna was born in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Cora Benson Touro, on June 28, 1909. She was united in marriage to Glenn Dahms on October 27, 1932, in Rock Island, Illinois. Glenn died March 19, 1989.The couple farmed for many years six miles north of Marion. Edna was a 4-H leader for ten years and took groups to the Iowa State Fair. She was a member of a rural book club; Marion Women?s Club; a lifelong member of Farm Bureau; and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion for eighty-six years.
Edna loved doing crafts, crocheting and other handiwork. After retirement, she and Glenn enjoyed traveling.
Although from a small family, Edna touched many lives in many different ways. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
