Edmund William Trenkamp
December 15, 1953 — June 19, 2008
Edmund William Trenkamp, 54, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, after an eight year battle with cancer. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Greg Bahl. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his parents, Vernice & John Knudsen of Marion; two sisters, Shirley Holm and Jean Axmear, both of Sigourney; four nieces, Jessica Horras, Meredith Holm, Hanna Kullander, and Carolyn Holm.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Daniel B. Trenkamp on January 10, 1995.
Edmund was born December 15, 1953, the son of Edmund F. and Vernice H. Fangman Trenkamp, in Manchester, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School in 1971 and Kirkwood Community College. He was employed by P & H Harnischfeger for 15 years, J & R Apco for 30 years and later Nu-Life Auto in Marion. Edmund enjoyed a good story, Pepsi, mushroom hunting, collecting all of his fine treasures, his old blue Ford truck, and spending time with all of his friends and family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Edmund’s name.
