Edith G. King, 85, of 840 3rd Ave., died Sunday, December 11, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a sudden illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Nick Longworth. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her son, Tim (Karen) King of Marion; her daughter, Kathy King of Seattle, Washington; an honorary daughter, Billi Tatum of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Helen Kaemmerlen of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Ben, Kristi, Danny, Kristin, Jennifer and Andrea; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ike; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Edith was born January 20, 1920, the daughter of O.C. and Cassie(Stump) Patterson. On August 29, 1948, she married Ivan "Ike? King in Washington, Iowa. He died June 6, 1993. Edith worked as an accountant as Life Investors and Aegon for over twenty-five years.
A memorial fund has been established in Edith?s memory.
Her greatest gift was her love, understanding and caring for her family and others.
