Ed Grimm, 74, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, Iowa. Memorial Gathering: 3-7 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Kaye of Urbana; sons, Brian Grimm and Darren Grimm, both from Urbana; granddaughters, Kay (Kenny) Ginther of Hiawatha, Kristina Grimm (Nick Ruby) of Carlisle, Iowa; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Sherman of Cedar Rapids, Larry (Judy) Grimm of Urbana, Merle (Georgene) Grimm of Hiawatha; and mother-in-law, Helen Franks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Sherman; sister-in-law, Irene Grimm; fathers-in-law, Darwin Boyles and Elmer Franks; and daughter-in-law, Jacque Manternach.
Ed was born on October 1, 1941, in Urbana, Iowa, son of Merle and Laura (Palmer) Grimm. He attended Urbana High School. Ed married Kaye in 1967 in Urbana, Iowa. He worked for and drove a cement truck driver for McDowell’s Ready Mix. Ed enjoyed fishing.
