E. Norma Richardson, 86, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Friday, November 18, 2005, following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment: Campbell Cemetery in Bertram.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Jerris) Richardson of Missouri Valley, Jim (Sue) Richardson of Independence and Joyce Mitchell of Toddville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren;a great-great-granddaughter; a half brother, Larry (Linda) Ashton; and a half sister, Sylvia (Glen) Seymour; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; grandson, Dayton Mitchell; great-grandson, Patrick Kycia; brother, Edward; sister, Jeanette; and half sister, Gwendolyn.

Norma was born December 24, 1918, in Muscatine to John H. and Eva M. Nolte Ashton. She attended school in West Liberty and Muscatine. On August 10, 1935, she was united in marriage to James W. Richardson, who preceded her in death. Norma lived in the Toddville area from 1947 until the mid ?70s, when she moved to Arkansas, where she lived until 2000. In her younger years, she helped her father run their hatchery business. Norma had been employed at Rockwell-Collins. She was a founding member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. Norma was an avid gardener and square dancer.
