Duane E. Rethmeier, 80, of Manchester, died Saturday, June 11, 2011. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to services at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Duane has born August 6, 1930 in Hawkeye, Iowa the son of August and Lillian (Hutsteadler) Rethmeier. On September 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Darlene Murray.
Duane was a jack of all trades; he was a friend to all and enjoyed playing pool and cards.
Survivors included is wife, Darlene; children, Edward Rethmeier, San Francisco, CA, Amey (David) Potter, Austin, TX, Susan (Julio) Medina, San Francisco, CA, Diana Rethmeier, Manchester, and Christiana (Carlos) Angiano, Daily City, CA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, August and Lillian Rethmeier; a daughter, Cathy Karl; siblings; Arlene, Caroline, Viola, Freddy, August “Bud”, and Russell.
