Dorothy Ruth "Dewf? Ludlow Weber, 85, passed away quietly at Cottage Grove Place, from complications of Parkinson?s, Friday, June 20, 2003. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, by the Rev. Howard Chapman. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Surviving are a son, Fred Weber Jr. and wife Judy of Marion; a daughter, Mary Weber of Marion; a brother, George Ludlow and wife Margaret of Marion; and a sister, Mary Fuller of Mobile, Alabama.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Wesley and Erin Weber, Brian Todd, Kevin Todd and wife Janice, Eric Todd and Jay Diers; and four great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Amy, Ashley and Abby Todd. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, James Ludlow, a sister, Marjorie Hanna and a grandson, McKeon Weber.
She was born the daughter of James W. and Eva Millard Ludlow on July 21, 1917, in Cedar Rapids. Dorothy graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, graduating in 1935 and also attended Cedar Rapids Business College. On August 8, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, she was united in marriage to Fred E. "Bud? Weber. He died February 2, 2003.
In addition to raising her two children, "Dewfie? helped her husband run Weber Paint and Glass Company from 1947 until their retirement in 1980. "Dewfie? was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion, where she served as a deacon and elder. She was a member of PEO, Wednesday Study Club, Mother?s Club, Progressive Club and a former member of Indian Creek Country Club.
"Dewfie? enjoyed golfing and bowling for many years. Our mother and grandmother was a person who brought out the best in everyone. Her family and her many friends will miss her dearly.
