Dorothy Irene Vogel (Beltz)

Dorothy Irene Vogel, 95, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Rock Ridge Residential Care Center, Shellsburg. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Suzanne) Vogel of Louisville, KY, Dennis (Janet) Vogel of Shellsburg, IA and Randy (Debra) Vogel of Palo, IA; grandchildren, Terry, Cindi, Ronda, Debra, Denise, Diane, Tiffany, Brian, Tara and Shauna; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae (Shannon) Beltz; husband, Bert Vogel; son, Ronald Vogel; and seven brothers and sisters.
Dorothy was born on January 14, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of James and Mae Beltz. She married Bert Vogel on February 2, 1935, in Cedar Rapids; he passed away on March 5, 1990. She worked at Rockwell Collins and later at Quaker Oats where she retired in 1975. Dorothy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, crocheting and loved her faithful schnauzers.
