Dorothy E. Silver, 92, of Central City, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at her home. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, by Pastor Mary Taylor. The family will greet friends from 3 - 6 on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include 2 children, Vivian (John) Edgerton of Central City and Ronnie Silver of Central City; 3 grandchildren, Bradley Price and friend Jeanne, Rona Price, and Darren Price; a sister, Elsie (Richard) LeClere of Belvedere, Illinois; 2 brothers, Ronald (Irma) Moyer of Anamosa, and Rayford (Jane) Moyer of Central City; 3 great-grandchildren, Dustin, Derick and Dalton Price; and 1 great-great grandchild, Daiton Price; 2 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers, Franklin and Howard Moyer; 1 sister, Florence Michaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born January 19, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Moss) Moyer, in Fremont, Iowa. She married Stewart R. Silver on May 1, 1935 in Anamosa, Iowa. He died December 5, 1994. Dorothy farmed with her husband and then took over the management after the death of her husband, having been at that location since 1948.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, Dorothy’s request was that all who knew and loved her, would perform an act of kindness.
