Dorothy Robertson, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died October 4, 2016, at the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016, Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Judy (Floyd) Sauter of Urbana, Iowa, Jon (Gwynne) Robertson of Central City, Greg (Janet) Robertson of Cedar Rapids, Marty (Diana) Robertson of Vinton, Iowa, Paul (Kim) Robertson of Texas; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Doris) Templer of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Col. Charles Wild (Ret. U.S. Army) of Texas; daughter-in-law, Becky Robertson of Urbana.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Robertson; parents; son, Donald S. Robertson; two sisters, Loraine (Milford) Romsey, Joyce Wild; brother, James (Minnie) Templer; and grandson, Michael J. Robertson.

Dorothy was born August 11, 1922, on a farm near Jewell, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Helen (Wienke) Templer. She graduated from Randall High School in 1939. Dorothy attended Mount Mercy Junior College and graduated with an Associate Degree in accounting in 1941. She married Donald A. Robertson on April 19, 1947, after he returned from WWII at Immaculate Conception Church in Cedar Rapids. Dorothy worked at Money Loan Corp. and then later at Mercy Hospital in the business office. She retired from Mercy Hospital as the Director of Patient Accounts in 1984.

Dorothy loved golfing and belonged to the Twin Pines and Jones ladies groups. She spent many weekends and vacations camping with her husband and children as they were growing up. Later she and her husband golfed, bowled, traveled and went sight-seeing.
