Dorothy C. Paup, 84, of Central City, formerly of Mechanicsville, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Per Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Graveside Services: Rosehill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (John “Whitey”) Gesling of Mechanicsville, and Carla (Craig) Hornby of West DesMoines; and four sons, Melvin Paup, Calvin (Donna) Paup, Glen (Shannon) Paup, and Dean (Sherie) Paup, all of Mechanicsville.
Also surviving are two sisters, Bernice Boots, of Central City and Delores (Ernest) Barker of Alaska; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Dan Paup, her parents, a brother, Clayton Koehn, and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Boots.
Dorothy was born September 6, 1922, the daughter of Henry G. and Clara B. (Lisk) Koehn in Elizabeth, Illinois. She worked as a bartender in the Mechanicsville area for many years.
Dorothy enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved dancing and playing cards.
