Dorothy A. Odell, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, January 13, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Graveside Services: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include four children, Mindy Ewing, Robert (Helen) Wertz, Melissa (Wayne) Jacobs all of Cedar Rapids and Benjamin (Tammy) Odell, Jr. of Swisher; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a sister, Georgia (Don) Chalstrom of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin; son, Mel Wertz; and brother, Carl Sorenson.
Born December 11, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dorothy was the daughter of Carl and Mary (Janis) Sorenson. She married Benjamin Odell. He died May 25, 1998.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
