Dorothy Marie Kisling (Gray)

Dorothy M. Kisling, 95, of Urbana, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Rockridge Care Center, Shellsburg, from complications of age. Private Family Graveside Services: Saturday, July 5, 2008, Urbana Cemetery, Urbana. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Dorothy was born April 7, 1913, to Delbert and Rose (Strait) Gray. She married Vernon Kisling March 18, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1997. Dorothy was employed at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, for several years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Urbana Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Jean Anderson, Joann (Donald) Felker; one son, James (Marlene) Kisling; one daughter-in-law, Mildred Kisling; one sister-in-law Mildred Gray; twelve grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Vernon, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Raymond in infancy and Fred in 1988; one son-in-law, George Anderson; three grandchildren, Denny, Kristi and Kenny; five brothers and sisters; and an aunt and uncle, Sadie and Logan Denison, who raised her.
The family would like to thank Rockridge Residential Care Center, St. Luke’s Hospital and Hospice for their care and concern for our mother and family. She will be greatly missed.
