Dorothy Ilene Kerton (Campbell)

Dorothy I. Kerton, 84, of Manchester, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Manchester United Methodist Church in Manchester by Rev. Jill Mack. Family will greet friends from 3-7 p.m. on Monday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Dorothy was born December 28, 1923, the daughter of Earl E. and Myrtle (Redding) Campbell on the family farm five miles northeast of Manchester. Dorothy attended the Red School in rural Manchester and Manchester High School. She worked for the Office Price Administration for three years, Delaware County Memorial Hospital for fourteen years and Farmers Home Administration for seventeen years before retirement. On February 22, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard “Bing” Kerton at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Dorothy was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Steve (Marlys) Kerton of Monument, CO, Dave Kerton of Marion and Nancy (Jim) Hough of Ryan; three grandchildren, Zach Kerton and Travis (Lisa) Hough and Tracy Hough; one brother, Eldon Campbell of Wheat Ridge, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Myrtle Campbell; her husband, Bernard “Bing” Kerton in 1993; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Campbell.
