Dorothy Ann Herber
November 29, 1931 — June 13, 2005
Dorothy Ann (Gould) Herber, 73, of 1651 34th St. SE, died Monday, June 13, 2005, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Barb Furman. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the service. Dorothy chose to be cremated.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen (Danny) Furman of Marion and Karen (Michael) Liebner of Monee, Illinois; a sister, Arlillian "Lil? Gates of Marengo; a brother, Carol "Kelly? (Elaine) Gould of Belle Plaine; three grandchildren, Margaret, Grant and Rachel; one great-grandchild, Kaleb; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Merlin, Wilbur and Gregory; and a sister, Margaret.
Dorothy was born November 29, 1931, in rural Belle Plaine, the youngest daughter of Benjimin and Ladye (Sloan) Gould. Dorothy moved to Cedar Rapids in 1950 and worked for most of her life in the dry cleaning business. She said her greatest joy in life was spent with all three of her "kids? (grandkids) and getting them away from their parents so she could enjoy them. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
