Dorothy Arlene Hale, 86, died February 3, 2012 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Druhl. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester. Additional visitation: One hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Burial in the Oakland Cemetery.
Dorothy was born November 9, 1925 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Zumbach) Luck. Following graduation from the Coggon High School in 1943, Dorothy worked in Washington, DC in the clerical department for the FBI. After moving back to Iowa, she was united in marriage to Albert “Bud” Hale on August 8, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Dorothy worked for the Manchester Police Department as a Dispatcher for 15 years.
Dorothy was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed bingo, Bible Studies, Church, her family and traveling to Arizona in the winter with “Bud”.
Dorothy is survived by seven children, Janeen Weber of Glendale, AZ, Janette (Ken) Reiger of East Moline, IL, Doug (Rachel) Hale of Surprise, AZ, Dave Hale of Manchester, Gary Hale of Phoenix, AZ, Joleen (Tom) Wilhelm of Manchester and Julie Nicholas of Glendale, AZ, and; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Loren) Peters of Manchester, and a sister-in-law, Lavonne Luck of Arkansas.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hale in 2009, and her parents, Arthur and Clara Luck.
