Dorothy Mary (Loeb) Graf, 96, dearly loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, resident of Bickford Cottage in Marion, formerly of Hazelton, passed peacefully on January 17, 2014. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion by Chaplain Dick Ernst. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014, at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Survivors include her children, Darlene (Harold) Duckett of Central City, Larry (Linda) Graf of Petersburg, IL, and Shirley (Gary) Keoppel of Marion; seven grandchildren, Todd, Susan, Jason, Melissa, Megan, Lindsey, and Tyler; 14 great-grandchildren, Bryanne, Taylor, Samuel, Maria, Connor, Nicholas, Andrew, Vincent, Natalie, Presley, Kinley, Carson, Hadley, and Kason; and sister, Delpha Werner of Council Bluffs, IA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; infant daughter, Donna Mae Graf; and sister, Ida Mae Loeb.

Dorothy was born April 24, 1917 in Hazelton, Iowa, the daughter of Valentine and Lottie (Sidler) Loeb. She attended Cooper Valley Schools in Buchanan County and married Merlin L. Graf on November 18, 1941, in Kahoka, MO. She was a dedicated farm wife who worked in partnership with her husband on the farm for many years. Merlin died December 28, 1993.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy’s memory may be directed to either a charity of the donor’s choice or to Unity Point Hospice at: 855 A Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402.
