Dorothy M. Boone, 90, a resident Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Central City and Marion, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the care center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Clayton George. Visitation will be from 1 - 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Roy) Swallom of Williston, North Dakota; her stepchildren, David (Cynthia) Stone of Anamosa, Larry (Sherry) Stone of Knoxville, Dorothy (Don) Bach of Center Point, and Lyle (Sandy) Boone of Des Moines; two sisters, Irma Shaw of Antioch, California and Audrey Patton of Marion; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Maxine Morehouse; a brother, Don Beasley; and a granddaughter, Sarah Stone.
Dorothy was born August 1, 1917, the daughter of Raymond and Clara (Harnish) Beasley in DeWitt. She graduated from Central City High School in 1934. On December 7, 1952, she married Jess Stone in Cedar Rapids. He died December 31, 1985. She then married Gerald Boone May 6, 1989. He died in May of 2006. Dorothy was employed at Turner Microphone during WWII and later at Martinson Sodding and Grading.
Dorothy was a member of United Parish Church in Coggon.
