Dorothy A. Barnes (Moran)

Dorothy A. Barnes, 88, of Springville, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Monticello Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. Funeral Services: Friday, April 20, 2007, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville where a rosary will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral mass. Burial: Springville Cemetery. The family will also greet friends at St. Isidore Catholic Church Hall for a Celebration of Life from 4 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Survivors include her children, Bill and wife Marlene Barnes of Springville, Chuck and wife Mary Barnes of Anamosa, and Marilyn and husband Tim Blanchard of Iowa Falls; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim.
Dorothy was born April 25, 1918, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (McGovern) Moran in LaPorte City. On October 15, 1940, she married James R. Barnes. He died December 15, 1998.
Dorothy was a charter member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer?s Association of East Central Iowa, 1570 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, or Hospice of Mercy.
