Doris A. Winistorfer, 88, formerly of Manchester, Iowa died Friday evening, July 15, 2005, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Manchester United Methodist Church in Manchester. The family will greet friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Doris was born August 11, 1916, the daughter of Asa and Georgeanna (Elsbury) Kelley. On August 5, 1959, Doris was united in marriage to Merle Winistorfer at the United Methodist Church in Manchester.
For thirty years, Doris worked as a licensed practical nurse in the nursery at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Garden Club, Eastern Star and Grange. Doris enjoyed gardening, especially with flowers. She also liked farming, working with sheep, pigs and lambs. Doris and Merle enjoyed traveling by car throughout most of the United States. She loved playing cards, with Pinochle as her favorite.
Doris is survived by two brothers, Vernon Kelley of Arlington and Floyd Kelley of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Grace Brady of Edgewood; many nieces and nephews; and her roommate, Vaneta Baker of Edgewood.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband Merle Winistorfer; her parents, Asa and Georgeanna Kelley; one sister, Esther Winistofer; and two brothers, Harold and Delbert Kelley.
