Doris Hoyle, 82, of Living Center East, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a long illness.
There will be no services. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.
Doris is survived by three children, Linda “Holly” Johnston and Connie (John) Seegers, both of Cedar Rapids, John E. (Mona) Hoyle, Jr. of Kentucky; five grandchildren, Cory John (Cami) Pierce, Kevin Scott (Liane) Schulte, Kristine (Bruce) Spurgeon, Nicole (Ryan) Hoyle-Eaton, Steve (Lisa) Pastor and Travis Hoyle; six great-grandchildren, Alex Pierce, Haley Spurgeon, William Schulte, Gwyneth Pastor, Gage Pierce and Taylor Spurgeon; two sisters, Ruth Vaupel of Cedar Rapids and Beverly; and a brother, Thomas Wilford of Sun City, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John E. Hoyle, Sr. in 2005; and three brothers, Charles Carl and Frank.
Doris was born September 28, 1924 in Elwood, the daughter of Floyd A. and Hazel C. (Wilson) Wilford. On January 13, 1946, Doris was united in marriage to John E. Hoyle, Sr. in Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
