Doris A. Pugsley, 65. of Earlville, died of cancer on Saturday morning, October 8, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester.
Funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home in Earlville. Burial will be at noon on Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg.
Doris was born July 2, 1940 in Cylinder, Iowa, the daughter of Claude L. and Sophronia M. (Coleman) Pugsley. She attended school in the Cylinder and Algona areas. Doris did housekeeping in Glenwood, Minnesota before her marriage to Harold J. Wieneke on May 18, 1963. The couple lived in Adrian, Minnesota and moved to Waterloo in 1967. Harold?s work required the family to move around eastern and central Iowa. Doris and Harold divorced and she moved to Ryan, then to Earlville in 2002. She worked for the Ertl Toy Company for a few years.
Doris was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville where she belonged to the Rosary Society. She babysat for many area families and enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and friends.
Doris is survived by four children, John (Glenda) Wieneke of Manchester, Brenda (Tom) Morse of Aurora, Michael Wieneke of Norfolk, NE and Roger Wieneke of Manchester; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Laubenthal of Emmetsburg and Delores Gibboney of Des Moines.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Sophronia Pugsley; her former husband, Harold Wieneke; an infant child; two brothers, Leo and Johnny Pugsley; and a brother-in-law, Robert Laubenthal.
