Survivors include her daughter, Marla Dawne Allison of Hiawatha; her grandchildren, Derek Taylor of Alburnett, Noah Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah, Hannah Walton of Marion, and Joshua Schmidt of Mason City; great-grandchildren, Braydon, Brooklynn, Audree, Trystin, Isaiah, Tavion, and Nevaeh; 2 sisters, Karen (Richard) Cigrand of Monticello and Marilynn (Andrew) Carter of Marion; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Donna Backe, Sharon Schulte and many other friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lori Ellen Taylor; a sister Jan Breiholz; and 3 special aunts, Minnie, Mayme and Lena Harms.

Donna was born August 15, 1937, the daughter of Emil and Maxine (Slater) Harms, in Monticello, Iowa. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1955 and worked for Rockwell Collins for 32 years and for AdTrack Corporation for 12 years. Donna embroidered countless baby quilts for grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed cross stitching; was brilliant with the daily crossword puzzle; and loved visiting New Orleans. Donna truly enjoyed being a member at St. Andrew Lutheran Church for nearly 30 years. She loved all of her family and her biggest joy came from her grandchildren.

We would like to thank all for the comforting prayers and support we have received from family, friends, colleagues and health care workers.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Donna’s memory.
