You cannot imagine the Welcome Home Party I received on Tuesday, July 23, 2019! My Eternal home is so much more beautiful than I ever thought possible. Of course I’m going to miss holding the hand of my true love whom I met in 1960, and married January 13, 1962. I’m going to miss my girls and how each one of them were so unique in their own way, but together made my life so much richer. I’m going to miss my grandchildren who all brought so much joy into my life. I sure loved being a Nana, and then they started giving me great-grandchildren and I never knew that my heart could continue to grow so large. I’m going to miss sewing and mending for my family, scrapbooking the memories we all made together, listening to my children and grandchildren sing when they’re all together, the gorgeous landscaping my husband so faithfully took joy in doing, and the laughter of friends and family gathered around me. But oh how I love the smile that radiates from my Savior’s face, and the music the angels sing. The beauty that surrounds me here is far and above anything imagined so I look forward to the day I can welcome my family and friends into paradise.

Donna Jean Paul of Hudsonville, Michigan was born June 3, 1943, to Don and Dorothy Marsh in Waterloo, Iowa. She worked many different jobs throughout her life, but her favorite was the role of MOM and later added NANA (or NONI as some of her grandkids so lovingly called her) to her list of favorite job titles. Donna faithfully believed in Heaven and angels and she was a prayer warrior for all who knew her. She and Lowell raised their family and even foster parented for many years in Waterloo, IA. Later on, they moved to Readlyn, Iowa then to Manchester, Iowa and finally settled in Hudsonville, Michigan.

After a long and graceful battle with cancer, her Savior welcomed her into His loving embrace on July 23, 2019. She was reunited with her parents and some very precious friends and family members as she walked through Heaven’s glorious gates. A service celebrating Donna’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019, at Bauer Community Fellowship, 4852 Bauer Rd., Hudsonville, with Pastor Robert Whinnen officiating.
