Donna Jo Ockenfels

Donna Jo Ockenfels, 52, of Anamosa, formerly of Marion, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at home, following a long illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Yale Jaeger. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Hazel Knoll Cemetery in rural Anamosa at a later date.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-two years, Roger; son, Duane Ockenfels of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Christy (Andrew) Pietropinto of Marion; parents, Donald and Joanna Blaylock of Punta Gorda, Florida; brother, Forrest (Bonnie) Blaylock of Depere, Wisconsin; sister, Jene (Dennis) Henigar of The Colony, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Donna was born July 18, 1956, the daughter of Donald and Joanna (Fry) Blaylock in Sigourney. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1974. On April 3, 1976, she married Roger E. Ockenfels at the Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Donna was a homemaker. She was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Donna loved music and art. She had the heart of a volunteer and was dedicated to sharing the Good News. Donna was baptized in 1981 and was a member of Anamosa Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
