Donna Rae Hospodarsky, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; children, Bob (Dee) Hospodarsky, Jr. of Toddville, Iowa, Tracy Voorhees of Toddville and Michael (Mary) Hospodarsky of Marion, Iowa; grandchildren, Austin Voorhees, Jamie Voorhees, Erin Usher, Daniel Usher and Cole Krewson; siblings, Phyllis (John) Ortgies of Redmond, Oregon, Marlys (Rick) Caryl of Central City, Iowa and Leora (Randy) Smith of Anamosa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Nancy Hart of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Hart.
Donna was born on March 6, 1949, in Anamosa, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Muriel (Warnock) Hart. She graduated from Central City High School in 1967. Bob and Donna were united in marriage on September 8, 1979, in St. Mark’s United Methodist, in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a secretary at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, retiring after 47 years. Donna enjoyed camping, reading, walking, cooking, listening to music, going to the Red Hat outings, and loved her dogs, Abby and Lydia.
