Donna Marie Guehrn (Mardorf)

Donna Marie Guehrn, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, as a result of a car accident in Oviedo, Florida. Celebration of Life Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the celebration of life on Monday. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Ladora.
Survivors include two daughters, Lora (Derek) Bryan of Oviedo, Florida and Karen (Jeff) Mull of Anamosa; two grandchildren, Bradley and Brooke Mull; four brothers, Kevin (Cherie) Petty, Roger (Jaxine) Petty, Dell Petty, and Sid (Cherie) Petty; and three sisters, Luann (Gary) Olsen, Lori (Ivan) Cooper and Elsie (Richard) Flug.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; three brothers, David Mardorf, Ronald Petty, and Ralph Petty; and her birth mother, Ruby.
Donna was born March 20, 1947, the daughter of Carl and Eileen (McCormick) Mardorf, in Atlantic and grew up in Olin. She attended Cliff Mann Floral School, Kirkwood Community College where she was in the Phi Theta Kappa and Mount Mercy College. August 14, 1999, she married Donald E. Guehrn in Anamosa. Donna was a preschool teacher for over 25 years at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. She also worked at Kirkwood Community College, Martelle Library, Theisen’s, Jan’s Flowers in Monticello, Younkers in Cedar Rapids, Rainbow Supper Club, GC Services and Mercy Hospital. Donna enjoyed quilting and tatting.
A memorial fund has been established in Donna’s memory.
